Precedent Dental Laboratory is a specialist prosthetics laboratory, producing acrylic, chrome and Valplast Flexible dentures for our clients; we also offer a private one-hour repair service to the general public.

Our dedicated fully trained team of technicians produce the best quality custom made prosthetic appliances. Each technician continually strives to develop their skills, participating in an ongoing programme of continuing Professional Development Training (CPD). 

Precedent and GDC registration

As a long established and prominent, dedicated prosthetics laboratory, Precedent takes care to ensure that we meet all regulatory requirements, producing the best possible appliances and best care for patients.

The latest of these regulations –  the statutory registration of dental professionals which, includes dental technicians – was introduced in July 2008.  We believe this further strengthens our laboratory’s commitment to quality in the appliances we produce and in the service relationships we develop with our customers and their clients.

  • Have been registered with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) since 1997, when registration was introduced. Registration number CA 002608

William Bell RDT, MDTA – Managing Director

With a career starting in 1987, Bill is passionate about producing the highest quality work and providing excellent service for our clients. After qualifying in 1992 with a BTec in Science (Dental Technology), he opened Precedent in June 1994 and has built up a first-class reputation. He is a certified Mentor for our trainees and is Straumann Platinum approved.

Matthew Adams RDT, MDTA – Senior Technician

GDC Registration Number: 143067

Matt started as a Technician in 1978 and qualified in 1983 after gaining a City and Guilds of London Institute Certificate in Dental Technology. In a previous employment, he managed and ran a Cobalt Chrome department where he gained expertise in construction and design.  He joined our team in 1997 having worked with Bill since 1987.

Michael Ross – Senior Technician

GDC Registration Number: 222111

Mike joined us in 2006, gaining the BTec National Award in Dental Technology and Foundation Degree in Dental Technology in 2011. Mike is a Myerson EMA approved Technician and is Straumann Platinum approved.

Fran Mason- Qualified Technician

GDC Registration Number: 245289

Fran joined us in 2016 from another local laboratory. Fran qualified in 2012 with a Foundation Degree in Dental Technology De Montfort

Peter Jones – Dental Laboratory Assistant

Peter joined us in January 2017.  He has had a varied career and is now training with us to become an accomplished assistant.

Megan Ashcroft – Trainee Technician

Megan joined the team in June 2017 and having completed her B/Tec foundation year in Dental Technology at Birmingham University is now at Liverpool working towards her Foundation degree in Dental Technology.

Joel Campbell – Trainee Technician

Joel joined the team in July 2017 and is working towards his Foundation Degree in Dental Technology.

Hollie Finlay – Trainee Technician

Hollie joined us in September 2018 looking for a new challenge as a GDC registered Dental Nurse (GDC number 269917) having completed her Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City & Guilds 2017 in May 2017. Hollie is attending Liverpool working towards her Foundation Degree in Dental Technology.

Kate Bell – DipFSM, ACIB BSc Hons, QTS

Kate undertakes all the administration and accounting for the company. After a very successful career in banking, Kate taught Mathematics at a local Wirral secondary school before leaving to join the family company 

Delivery Drivers

Alan Pritchard, John James & Doug Mann are our Delivery Drivers, all working on our two daily delivery rounds, they are very approachable and friendly and will always be happy to help.
